Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all CSES Students and Parents
10 Lessons I want to Instill for My Students for 2025:
1) If you make a mistake, fix it.
2) If you're thankful, show it.
3) If you're confused, ask questions.
4) If you love someone, tell them.
5) If you hurt someone, take responsibility.
6) If you're stuck, ask for help.
7) If someone needs help, give it.
8) If you're wrong, acknowledge it.
9) If you fall, get back up.
10) If you see a wrong, take a stand to make it right.
Have a great Holiday Season
Mr. S.

Last Thursday, eleven students represented CSHS at the UMary Math Competition where they competed in challenging individual and team tests. Throughout the day, there was lots of math discussion amongst the students. During the afternoon session, UMary professor Dr. Travis Wolf gave a presentation on a newfound mathematical shape - the Einstein Hat - and its relevance to mathematical tessellations, or tilings. This shape was only recently discovered in 2022 and the proof published in 2023. Students then were given their own set of Einstein tiles and time to collaborate to make their own tessellations. It was fun learning about new and relevant math topics.

A Very Special Thank You to the Women's Auxiliary Club of Center for providing a cupcake for each and every student and staff member in our Elementary School for National Education Week. They shared what the colors and shapes on the flag meant, and reminded us all to thank those who served for the freedoms we currently have today. Thank You Ladies the Kiddos loved the cupcakes.
