If road conditions are such in your area that you would like to keep your kids home, please do so. They will be marked as weather which doesn't count against them.

The Lady Wildcats finished up their season on Saturday after a hard-fought battle with the New Salem Holsteins. The girls put forth an incredible defense effort and represented Center-Stanton well in the tournament. Ava Erhardt was selected by an independent committee to the All District 8 Tournament Team. We are so proud of our team and can't wait to get to work for next season!

Go Wildcats!

On to State! Congratulations to our Holstien Wrestlers!

The kids had a great weekend of wrestling at the West Reginal Boys and Girls Individuals this weekend and we ended up with 12 State qualifiers. We are sending 4 out of our 9 girls to State—Kiesha Tomac (2nd), Anna Engwicht (2nd), Autumn Huber Center-Stanton (5th), and Maddie Irwin (7th). Avrey Reinke, Nora Huber, and Taylor Fleckenstein from Center-Stanton fell just short for their bids to state. On the boys side, we are sending 8 of the 12 boys to state—Hayes Weinberger (1st), Chase Becher Center-Stanton (2nd), Hudson Buchholz-Casson Center-Stanton (3rd), Logan Heid (6th), Choutae Gerhardt (6th), Gunner Fricke Center-Stanton (8th), Brandt Haas (8th), and Clayton Heins (8th). Legion and Legion Dionne from Center-Stanton also fell just short.

State runs Thursday and Friday with wrestling starting at 10:00am both days. Boys and girls will run concurrently. There will be a live stream for those that cant make it to Fargo.

The Lady Wildcats came out on top in a matchup with Kidder County JV last night. The Wolves threw on a formidable full court press that the Wildcats were able to dismantle and build an early lead, and a stellar defensive effort held the Wolves in the second half. Come check out your Lady Wildcats on Monday against Central McLean's JV, and let's pack the gym on Tuesday night when the White Shield Warriors come to town for the District 8 play-in game! We appreciate the overwhelming support this season and look forward to a great district tournament!

The boys started the weekend off with a 24-35 home dual loss to the #1 team in the region Hettinger/Scranton. They almost pulled off the upset but ended up just 9 points short. Hudson picked up the win by decision and Legion received a win by open to lead the Center boys. Kade also picked up a win by fall in an exhibition match. The girls team was in Casselton this weekend for the Belle of the Brawl Tournament on Saturday. There were 35 teams there, and we were able to place 5 out of our 8 girls with Avrey (100) and Nora (106) coming just one match short of placing. Autumn at 112 made it to the quarter finals before losing to Addison Yates of Harvey by decision. She then went on to wrestle 2 more matches to hit her 6 match daily limit and was unable to wrestle for her 7th place placing match, so she ended in a tie for 7th with Eden Riddle of Lamour. The boys wrestled at the New Salem home East/West tournament Friday and Saturday and placed 6 out of our 12 wrestlers. Chase lead the way for the Center boys with a championship round loss to the #1 107 pounder Alberto Verdin and ended 2nd overall. Chase beat the #2 ranked wrestler by a 4-0 upset in the semi-finals to go to the championship. Hudson had to face the #2 seed in his very first match at 152 but couldn't quite pull off the upset. He worked his way back through the blood rounds to place 7th. Gunnar also had a tough fist match at 114 and ended up losing 7-6 but he also worked his way through the blood rounds to place 8th overall. Legion and Legend Dionne both had awesome blood round wins but ended up one match away from placing.

Up next weekend is girls individual regionals and boys regional duals to decide who gets to go to State Finals!

📣 Community Meeting – Tonight, January 29th @ 5:30
Join us tonight for a community meeting to discuss the possible move to a 4-day school week and to ask questions.

🗓 Tonight, January 29th @ 5:30
🗓 Wednesday, February 4th at 4:00 PM
📍Center-Stanton High School Library

Both meetings will cover the same information. We scheduled two dates to give everyone the opportunity to attend, understanding that not everyone can make it on one night due to other commitments.

We know this topic may raise concerns, and we encourage all community members to attend, ask questions, and be part of the conversation.

We look forward to seeing you!
