WE MAY ALL BE DIFFERENT FISH, BUT IN THIS SCHOOL WE SWIM TOGETHER!

Stop in and check out the new book titles and admire our new fishy friends @ the Center Oliver Library.

Welcome back to school with story time highlights. A few of our featured titles include: The Pout-Pout Fish Goes to School by Deborah Diesen. In a world where we may feel insecure at times the teacher quickly leads Mr. Fish to the joy of classroom learning. Trying by Kobi Yamada is another new favorite. It is a Nautilus Book Award Winner that displays incredible illustrated sculptures throughout the book. This read is for anyone who has ever felt like giving up.  Itty-Bitty Kitty Corn by Shannon Hale, a K-3 furry fun read about envy and realizing that you are good enough. Make Your Bed with Skipper the Seal  by Admiral William H. McRaven.  This book is a spin-off of the adult #1 Bestseller title  Make Your Bed: Little Things That Can Change Your Life…And Maybe the World.  The comical version has you in Navy SEAL training with actual other seals. The Navy SEAL instructor points out that you need to be your best self, have a hard work ethic, take risks, and by the way…always make your bed!

A few COL REMINDERS:

K-6 students and parents please remember to check weekly library times. We go over rules for library and book care. Also 7-12 grade students, staff, and parents/patrons please be mindful about returning books in a timely fashion. CDLN has turned on the book request function for all surrounding libraries within the network. If we don’t have it, we will get it!

OTHER PATRONS: Please call ahead.  This year I have extras that I am teaching. I want to be able to assist you upon arrival. I am grateful Sarah Yunker will be assisting Wednesdays and Fridays again. Also feel free to donate any slightly used books to the COL. We add them to the collection or have book giveaways throughout the year.

Have a wonderful school year!
