Congratulations!!

The CSHS Music Department is proud to announce that we had several of our students selected for prestigious festivals across our state! Both of the following festivals required an audition. The Middle School Honor Choirs were a recorded audition and the UND Festival was a live audition held in October.

The first of the auditions was for the Middle School Honor Choirs. This audition is open to students in grades 7-9. Students submitted auditions in early October and were notified shortly after Veteran’s day of the results. This festival is considered to be a Middle –School All-State Choir. It’s truly the best of the best of all Class A and Class B students. C-S will be well-represented with Rachel Schmidt (7th) and Kayley Berger (8th) both singing in the Treble Choir. Seth Hall (9th) was also selected as the 2nd alternate for the Mixed Choir. We’re now crossing our fingers he gets called up! These students will travel to the brand new St. Mary’s HS in Bismarck on February 4-5 to work with a guest conductor and conclude with an afternoon concert for the public.

The second festival is for students in grades 10-12. The UND Honor Band/Choir festival is a three-day event held on the UND campus. It has been known to be a very elite festival. C-S will once again be well-represented by the following students: Jayden Hall (Honor Choir), Joshua Thies (Honor Choir), Kayleigh Kraft (Honor Band), Cameron Albers (Honor Band), Katelynn Albers (Honor Band), Jarret Henke (Honor Band), Reanna Schmidt (Honor Band), and Matthew Lehrmann (Honor Band Alternate).

Congratulations to all of these students on these accomplishments! We are so proud of you and all of your hard work!
