sources

Welcome back to school! We are super excited this year as we are implementing a program called Sources of Strength. We will be implementing this as an entire school. We at Center-Stanton Public Schools were chosen as the only school in the state and only one of 27 entities in the state to receive a grant through the North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services- Behavioral Health Division, for suicide prevention. This grant allows us to implement in the elementary a curriculum-based program based on their eight identified strengths. This is a program that focuses on Hope, Help, and Strength rather than sad, shock, trauma. Sources of Strength is an upstream prevention program, which is why the elementary will be using the program, along with the traditional Peer-Led program of 7-12. Staff members in the elementary and high school each attended a one-day training on implementing Sources of Strength.
