Dear Center-Stanton Elementary Students and Families,

Thank you for another wonderful and productive school year.  I can’t thank everyone enough for your endless hours of volunteering, chaperoning, reading, organizing, donating and doing whatever was necessary to support students—both at home and at school.

Special thanks to our teachers who, as usual, went above and beyond the call of duty to provide whatever was necessary to add to our students’ already rich school experience.  That experience could not occur without the endless energy, skills, and devotion of all of our staff.  Thanks, and well done to an incredible group of professionals.

As this very unusual school year draws to a close, I would like to take a moment to share a few thoughts & sentiments on behalf of the leadership team here at Center-Stanton Elementary School.  None of us imagined that this and last school year would be disrupted and cut short in such a dramatic fashion. We are all working through the last marking period, gearing up for our spring musicals, field trips, and looking forward to all the fun and exciting events that characterize the last weeks of every school year. Now, we find ourselves reflecting on the unprecedented year that is ending and already preparing for the fall, when we hope that we will be back in school together – even if things look different for a while.

We want to thank you for your kindness, grace, and cooperation as our faculty and staff members worked to provide quality learning experiences for our students and to support their efforts to learn at school and from home. We have been amazed by the flexibility, tenacity and creativity that our students have shown as they have navigated this new and different way of accessing their education. They are resilient and we know that they will come through this difficult time having learned important lessons about themselves as learners and as young adults.

A final word to Center-Stanton Elementary students:  Thank you for all your hard work throughout the school year.  I am so honored to be your principal; you make me proud to be a Center-Stanton Wildcat.  You keep me laughing and young at heart.  I am grateful for your joy, insights and amazing talents.  Best wishes to our graduating sixth graders, whom I will miss greatly—please come back and visit.  Everyone have a safe and happy summer break.

Until next school year, here’s wishing you love, laughter and learning.

Mr. Sondag,

Elementary Principal
