Library Owl

Reading month has been astronomical @ the Center Oliver Library!

Throughout the month of March students in grades K-6th grade have sky rocketed their reading minutes. Total minutes submitted for prizes throughout the month were an out of this world:  106,830 total reading minutes. Over 100+ free books were awarded to K-6th grade students, as well as fun prize choices for reading that *REACHED BEYOND THE STARS* @ our COL!

MARCH Top Readers: Overall: Rachel Schmidt with 4,914 minutes and Kyle Albers with 4,320 minutes. Congratulations to all weekly top winners!

Highlighted book titles this month were Solar System By The Numbers author Steve Jenkins, Mars The Red Planet By Patricia Demuth, There’s No Place Like Space! All About Our Solar System Revised by Tish Rabe. (We were able to get many extra space titles thanks to our Central Dakota Library Network System of over 20+ surrounding libraries.)

Also a huge thanks to Chris Christianson, Rita Giesen, and Ashley Tietz for COL book donations. The COL gladly accepts all slightly used book donations, please call ahead for a drop time.

A huge shout out to Beth Brustle, MMRL Bookmobile, for supplying book boxes to our K-7th grade classrooms. (With COVID-19, the MMRL Bookmobile is waving charges to our Center-Stanton School for this past year. THANK YOU MMRL BOOKMOBILE!)

“If you are going to get anywhere in life you have to read a lot of books.” – Roald Dahl

A friendly reminder to renew or return library books in a timely manner…

Thanks,
