A little bit about me:
I have lived in North Dakota my entire life and attended elementary, middle and high school in the Roosevelt School District, Carson, ND. I graduated from the University of Mary with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Minor in PE. I also hold a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from University of Mary. I have a broad range of teaching experiences in a variety of educational settings and with many different student populations. Personally, education is in my blood, as my father spent his career in administration, teaching and coaching. He was, and still is, my inspiration and role model.
I also have a sister who is an elementary education teacher. I am married and have 3 children, 2 step-children, and 10 grandchildren. In my spare time I like to travel, hunt, fish, and umpire softball.
Our focus for the 2018-19 school year at Center-Stanton Elementary will be to provide leadership that cultivates an educational environment and delivers instruction to meet the needs of all students in order for them to succeed. We will provide education programming that will be challenging, exciting and designed to give students the opportunity to extend their prior learning and build on new ideas. It is my goal to provide sound academic opportunities for our students, enabling them to acquire the skills they need to become productive citizens in a rapidly changing world.
I believe “it takes MANY to raise a child”, and a strong connection between school, home and community is the foundation for student achievement. My educational philosophy is that of a leader working closely with staff, parents, and community stakeholders to ensure that all students are successful academically, socially and emotionally.
My door is always open and I am here to support you in any way possible.
Mark Sondag, Principal
Center-Stanton Elementary School
